Oedipus Cultural Route – wide meeting in Lamia

At the meeting we presented the website of the route and the suite of digital applications supporting the operation of the Route.

By decision of the Regional Governor of Central Greece, Mr. Fanis Spanos, the Action Plan for the “Cultural, Environmental, Tourist Route of the Region of Central Greece”, with a budget of € 2,500,000.00, was included in the Operational Program “Central Greece” 2014-2020. The utilization of the Integrated Spatial Investment (OHE) “Cultural, Environmental, Tourist Route of the Region of Central Greece” will build a strong and wide network of places and routes of cultural and environmental interest throughout the Region of Central Greece.

Following this important decision, ELEGRAD (as an external partner of Diazoma) participated in a wide-ranging meeting in Lamia, on Thursday, February 6, 2020, coordinated by the Regional Governor of Central Greece, Mr. Fanis Spanos, attended by the President of DIAZOVA BETOS, Mr. Stas. , executives of the Region of Central Greece, the Municipalities, the Ministry of Culture and DIAZOMA.

At the meeting we presented the website of the route and the suite of digital applications supporting the operation of the Route.

The researchers of DIAZOMA also presented the study of marking and recording the routes and junctions of the “Oedipus Cultural Route”, on which the funds of the Integrated Spatial Investment (OHE) “Cultural Greece, Environment” Environmental, Tourist Route are built.

In addition, there was a productive discussion on the necessary accessibility interventions in archeological sites, monuments and urban centers that will further highlight the cultural richness of the Region and upgrade the sites by making them accessible to the visitor.
